Back home for now

So we're back home now. The post-op MRI ended up getting delayed until today, but now it's done and we're home. The good news is that we got the results on the lumbar puncture and the bone scan. Both were negative! Finally, more good news! That means that the cancer probably hasn't gotten into the central nervous system (brain/spinal cord) and it doesn't look like the bones are involved. So the cancer is still in a preliminary stage and hasn't spread much yet. We won't know how much of the tumor remains outside the spinal column until we receive the MRI results tomorrow.

We fly to Boston Saturday. It will be sad to leave all our family here...I say family because the ward members, the YM/YW, and our friends across the city have become like family over the past two weeks. The outpouring of love and support has been completely overwhelming. In the past two weeks Emmett has received about 10 times what he got for Christmas and his birthday combined. And the cards, letters, texts, emails and other acts of support and generosity have been wonderful - we appreciate every one. We love and will miss you all so much!

Thanks again for your prayers and faith!
